Why Choose Us
Original Pioneers in the Tilapia Breeder Business
The Sipe family welcomes you to our home, and want to share our love of Tilapia with you. We've been perfecting the Tilapia breeding lines for over 50 years earning Mike Sipe the title "Father of Tilapia" in the United States and Internationally. We improve our lines twice per year by breeding the best of the best. This gives you the best quality fingerlings. This results in faster growth, higher meat yields, and the best color in the shortest amount of time. The process is 100% natural without the use of gene-splicing, the use of hormones or any other chemicals.
We're confident in our fish, and will be your trusted advisers through every step of the way. With our breeders you get quality and longevity of breeders. Our hybrids are perfect for aquaponic production and home based systems for supplying each and every family farm. Our years of experience have created sustainable farms to feed local villages, orphanages, and full production fish used in restaurants and retail stores.
As you're comparing Tilapia suppliers from around the web, know this; they probably got their stock from us!
Please enjoy our love of Tilapia,
Mike & Jan Sipe
Tilapia are one of the best fish to use in aquaponics. Our company first put them in the land at Disney World when it first opened in 1982. Since than we have seen aquaponics grow into a huge industry. Our hybrids being over 90% male make our fish one of the best hybrids out there available. Our sunshine hybrids with their ability to grow faster and produce a higher filet yield are ideal for those systems.

Mike Sipe
“Who was Mike Sipe”, you might ask. He’s was not a big shot politician or a famous movie star. He was not an Ivy League scholar or a member of any legal bar. But when it came to aquaculture he exceeded them all by far. What he was, was a dedicated man that wanted to go far. He did things they said could not be done with a little fish, to better the health of everyone. They say it came from the Middle East and some even say, it fed the multitude on the mount, that day. Just as it fed that crowd that day, Mike believed he could feed the whole wide world that way. What is aquaculture, you might ask, it’s not the animals that roam the earth and breathe the air like you and me, but the ones that live in in the lakes, rivers, streams and seas. This magic little fish has several names by which it’s called, tilapia, Saint Peters fish and penny fish to name a few, but I’m sure that’s not all. Well it looks as if I was right, Mike took that magic little fish and made it better. He even gave it a new name, he call it a Cherry Snapper. Just like Mike, we feel in love with that little Snapper and with our help it will live for ever after. We want to continue Mike’s dream but those are mighty large shoes to fill, but with the good Lords help we surely will. We hope that when you finish your meal and have cleaned you plate you can smile and say that was a delicious big Cherry Snapper I ate. Well I got to go now, got a lot fish to feed and when you’re enjoying these great fish think of Mike Sipe and not me. Have a great day.
